David- I would be interested in talking prior to the June 21-22 Transmission Summit in which both you and I will be presenting. I am particularly interested in potential to reconductor 230 kV lines at with composite-core conductor at higher tension for operation at 345 kV. I’m sure some people would tell me that it’s a pipe dream, but I see some potential, replacing I-string with V-string conductors (or paired suspension & compression insulators), replacing heavy-angle structures where necessary, and possibly using insulating midspan inter-phase spacers if needed.
Please let me know when you might have some time to talk.
