With the support of Wilson Construction, Southern California Edison SCE recently completed their Mira Loma – Corona – Jefferson 66 kV Reconductor project in Corona, California. SCE selected Dove size ACCC® Conductor to increase line capacity and improve system reliability. The ACCC® Conductor used for this project was manufactured by Taihan and Burndy provided ACCC® Hardware. Existing steel monopoles were used without modification. The line traversed the busy 91 Highway, and a majority of work was done at night to lessen traffic impact in the business and residential areas. Spans ranged from 400 to 500 feet, with a longer highway span. To date, SCE has completed dozens of ACCC® Reconductor projects throughout its service territory.
