Project Implementation and Key Partners

The project was awarded to KEC International Ltd. under PGCB Lot 2 (LOC 2) package of the 400 kV D/C (Quad Bundle) Bogura–Kaliakoir transmission line. KEC International Ltd. served as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor, to support installation and field operations.
For the conductors, Sterlite Power supplied the high-quality ACCC® Dhaka conductors used throughout the line, ensuring performance consistency and reliability. Preformed Line Products (PLP) provided the essential hardware fittings, ensuring seamless integration with the ACCC® Conductor and supporting high-strength, low-sag performance standards.
ACCC® Conductor: The Technology Behind Success
At the heart of the Kaliakoir–Bogura transmission line’s success is CTC Global’s ACCC® Conductor, a high-performance conductor that has been integral to the project’s efficient and incident-free deployment. The line, which includes approximately 3,150 kilometers of ACCC® Dhaka Conductor, was energized on March 29, 2025, after 19 just months of meticulous installation. The conductor’s superior efficiency and high ampacity made it an ideal choice for this high-voltage transmission project.
One of the standout features of this deployment was the flawless execution of the conductor installation. Supported by expert assistance from CTC Global ‘s Master Installer (MI), the installation team achieved an impressive installation rate of around 39 kilometers per week, even reaching 44 kilometers per week. The project was completed without a single incident related to the ACCC® Conductor, underscoring the careful planning, preparation, and execution that went into the project.

The success of the Kaliakoir–Bogura transmission line project can be attributed to several key factors, with ACCC® Conductor’s inherent benefits playing a central role. ACCC® Conductor’s superior ampacity allowed for more efficient transmission of power, reducing losses and enhancing grid reliability. These included thorough document review, detailed planning, equipment readiness, rigorous hardware management, and targeted crew training. Special attention was given to critical installation procedures, particularly for dead-end and mid-span joint assemblies, which were carried out to the highest quality standards.
Strategic placement of equipment and real-time engagement with the crew were also crucial to maintaining progress and safety throughout the installation process. The ability to address issues promptly and ensure alignment across the team was a key driver in meeting project timelines.
