ENEL Green Power Chile Completes ACCC® Reconductor Project

Supported by EPC firm Eiffage Energy System, ENEL Green Power Chile completed the installation of 108 kilometers of 714 kcmil Dove size ACCC® Conductor to replace 741 kcmil AAAC Flynn size conductor to double the capacity of their 115 kV EVAC PPEE La Cabana y Rihue transmission line in Los Ángeles, Chile. The line capacity is being upgraded to connect three new wind farms in the Biobío Region.

ENEL selected ACCC® Conductor for its ability to double line capacity and mitigate excessive sag while improving efficiency and reliability without needing to modify or replace existing lattice structures. ACCC® Conductor for the project was supplied by CTC Global’s authorized manufacturing partner IMSA, and Arruti of Spain provided the ACCC® Hardware. Tesmec and Tema stringing equipment was used to pull in the ACCC® Conductor on spans ranging from 250 to 600 meters, which included a highway crossing. ACCC® Master Installer Ferney Carvajal was on site to provide training and support.
